01 – SUNDAY ROME – GROSSETO – PISA – LA SPEZIA
7.00am meeting point at Destination Italia’s sightseeing office or pick up at the hotel from 6.30am. Meet your tour guide and start a delightful trip along the Tyrrhenian Coast. You will cross the Etruscan lands into the GROSSETO countryside, well known as MAREMMA. This is one of the new areas of excellence in Italy’s viticulture. Meandering through the Tuscan countryside you’ll arrive at a beautiful local winery near the regional park and close to wonderful beaches. Experience the winemaking process up close, from the vineyards to the cellar, to the ageing of the wine. At the end of the visit you can taste some of the wines of the region. Proceed along the coast until we reach PISA. Our tour leader will take you for a pleasant walk into the enchanting historical center visiting Piazza dei Miracoli, with its famous Leaning Tower (exterior visit), The Baptistery (exterior visit) and other beautiful monuments. Proceed to LA SPEZIA. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
02 – MONDAY LA SPEZIA – PORTOVENERE – GOLFO DEI POETI – CINQUE TERRE – LUCCA – MONTAPERTI After breakfast, depart by boat for an unforgettable day dedicated to the discovery of one of the most amazing and enchanting landscapes in the world : Cinque Terre. “CINQUE TERRE” is an area suspended between sea and land, hanging from sheer clis, surrounded by hills and vineyards. You will enter into a little piece of heaven. By touring the coastline by boat, you will have the possibility to admire this amazing landscape from the sea. (*In case of rough seas, the visit will be done partly by coach and partly by train.) During the tour, the boat will reach Portovenere and the most important villages, where you can stop and visit them! Take some pictures in PORTO VENERE, VERNAZZA and MONTEROSSO, walk the narrow streets and immerse yourself in a colorful postcard! Arrive in La Spezia by train and from there take the bus to reach the region of Tuscany with a stop en-route in LUCCA. Walk the cobblestone streets, explore squares and old Renaissance walls. See the birthplace of local composer Giacomo Puccini. Admire the medieval buildings along Via Fillungo, peek inside the San Frediano church and visit landmarks such as the Cathedral of San Martino, Piazza Anfiteatro and Torre delle Ore. Finally, do not forget to taste a Buccellato cake! Proceed to Montaperti. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

03 – TUESDAY MONTAPERTI – RADDA IN CHIANTI – SAN GIMIGNANO – SIENA – CASTELNUOVO BERARDENGA – MONTAPERTI After breakfast at the hotel, depart to discover the Chianti Classic GALLO NERO region and admire one of the most iconic villages: RADDA IN CHIANTI. Visit the small town on your own and then proceed by private coach to SAN GIMIGNANO, a tiny city that has remained intact through the centuries. It is situated on a hilltop and is famous for its towers, frescoes and other art treasures. Once you have left San Gimignano you will make a stop in a farmhouse to enjoy an wine tasting with typical snacks. Now it’s time to move onto SIENA, where you will have a visit to the old city center. Walk along the medieval streets admiring the splendid palaces. The sightseeing tour will end in Piazza del Campo. This is one of the most beautiful squares in the world and site of the famous 600 years old horse-race, called “Il Palio”. Before returning to the hotel you will stop in CASTEL NUOVO BERARDENGA for a special aperitif in a beautiful cellar. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

04 – WEDNESDAY MONTAPERTI – MONTEPULCIANO – PIENZA – ROME After breakfast, check out and depart to VAL D’ORCIA to complete the wine tour of Tuscany. You will reach the hilltop town of MONTEPULCIANO, an ancient village, rich in medieval and Renaissance buildings. It is famous for producing one of the oldest wines in Italy: “Nobile di Montepulciano”. Here you will visit a local wine cellar where you will taste wine and local products such as ham, cheese, and salami. Proceed to PIENZA, the Renaissance town built under Pope Pius II, well-known for its pecorino cheese. At the end of the visit return to Rome. Check in at the hotel and overnight.
05 – THURSDAY ROME – NAPLES – POMPEII – SORRENTO Departure from your hotel (pick up from hotels will be from 6.30 to 7.00 am, please remember to order your breakfast box at your hotel the day before departure!) Upon arrival in Naples we will take a walk in the historical centre to admire Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, Piazza del Municipio, the Gallery of Umberto I and the San Carlo Opera House. After lunch in a typical restaurant with Neapolitan specialities (water and 1 soft drink included) , with our local guide we will visit the Pompeii excavations, UNESCO listed ruins. This ancient Roman city was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, which buried and preserved it under a sea of volcanic ash for almost 1700 years. The archaeological journey through the ancient city will give us the opportunity to better understand how Romans used to live at that time. At the end of the tour, we may be given the opportunity to visit a coral and cameo factory, to admire items manufactured with a technique dating back to Ancient Greek times. Proceed to SORRENTO, the gateway to the Amalfi coast, with its colorful historical center and pretty waterfront, lined with fishing boats and the new Marina Grande cruise pier. Check in at your hotel in Sorrento, dinner and overnight.

06 – FRIDAY SORRENTO – CAPRI – SORRENTO American buffet breakfast at the hotel, and departure at 07.30-7.45am to the island of CAPRI. You will board the ferry and arrive in MARINA GRANDE. Once on the island you will visit the BLUE GROTTO (weather permitting), and stop at the famous Piazzetta. A Minibus will take you up to ANACAPRI. After lunch in Anacapri, you will return to Marina Grande where you will board the ferry for your transfer back to Sorrento. Departure to Pompeii where you will join the bus to return to Rome. Arrival in Rome around 9:00 pm and drop o at the hotel.

07- SATURDAY SORRENTO – POSITANO – AMALFI
American buffet breakfast at the hotel and departure to AMALFI at 9.30am through the breathtaking Amalfi Coast. Have a stop in POSITANO. Upon arrival at the picturesque village of Positano, enjoy approximately 2h of free time to explore the narrow lanes and abundance of souvenir shops. Alternatively, laze on the beach or visit the Church of Santa Maria Assunta (own expense). Leaving Positano and arrival in Amalfi, check in at the Hotel and time at leisure. You can go to the beach and plunge into the waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Alternatively, you can visit the city center of Amalfi. Overnight at the hotel.
08 – SUNDAY AMALFI American Buffet breakfast at the hotel and day at disposal for optional tours. Possibility to visit Amalfi historical center that is justly considered an outdoor museum, and preserves, almost intact, architectural and urban digs from its rich past as a maritime republic. You can also visit the picturesque RAVELLO, with the beautiful Villa Ruolo and the magnificent gardens of Villa Cimbrone, or you can decide to spend the day on the beach. Have a romantic dinner in one of the pretty restaurants all around the harbor or taste typical street food. Overnight in Amalfi. Meals: B
09 – MONDAY AMALFI – POMPEII – ROME American buffet breakfast at the hotel. Morning at your leisure. Meeting point at the hotel at 2.30-3.00pm and transfer to Pompeii where you will join the bus to return to Rome. Arrival in Rome around 9:00 pm (drop o guaranteed in Termini Station / Barberini Square / Destination Italia Office).
