The village of Pomponesco is located near the river bank of Po, accompanied by the hills and the mist from the plain mist. It is in this enchanting and silent landscape that Giulio Cesare Gonzaga established his court. He thus built a castle in the main square of the city, but it was destroyed by the French, leaving the square bare. Today April 23rd Square has remained unaltered, still surrounded by the arcades and houses where courtiers resided.
