The territory, known as the “Pian of Spain”, is an umbrella of international interest and is predominantly made up of a large flooding of Lake Mezzola. The vegetation landscape is characterized by swamps, mixed forests of broad-leaved trees and large agricultural areas. Housed since Roman times, the Spanish Plan has its name for Spanish domination from the 16th to the 18th century. This is why some of the fortress built by Count Fuentes remains.
