Pagnona – Pagnona

Of Celtic origins, it became important in the Middle Ages for the control of the streets towards Casargo and Valtellina, and was of great importance in the defense of Milan by the Venetians; evidence of this is a tower transformed into a dwelling. Later on, like the nearby Premana, it became a center for iron processing, which when it came to crisis, saw many Pagnenes emigrating to Venice. It created a series of relationships and interesting exchanges between the two cities.
