The Verdi Festival is one of the most prestigious events on the international music scene which celebrates Giuseppe Verdi and his works. It is held each year around the day of the great composer’s birthday on October 10th in Parma, Busseto and in the ‘Terre Verdiane’ (places associated with Verdi: Fidenza, Fontanellato, Fontevivo, Torrechiara). There will of course be opera to enjoy, but also on the programme are recitals, concerts, conversations with artists, aperitifs, dinners and insight. The Festival stirs up a magical atmosphere that attracts tourists and on-lookers from all over the world. The city merrily celebrates to the tune of the Maestro’s melodies which resound through the streets of the city centre.
There will be no shortage of opportunities to savour the local cuisine, with menus paying tribute to the composer or to visit places related to his music such as Giuseppe Verdi’s ‘Casa Natale’ or childhood home. The Festival offers a truly comprehensive cultural experience combining several related initiatives which all together make this musical journey an unforgettable event.
