Polesine & the Po Delta

On the border between Veneto and Emilia Romagna, Polesine, Chioggia and the Po Delta are the perfect destination for excitement of all kinds. Chioggia is a fantastic summer destination, with countless events for all tastes, from the Sagra del Pesce fish festival for food lovers to the Palio della Marciliana for those who are curious about medieval re-enactments, to the trendiest get-togethers, for the younger crowd and for anyone who likes to have a good time, in the many venues that line the famous beaches from Sottomarina to Isola Verde. But Chioggia is also a city of art and culture, as is Rovigo, the heart of Polesine, bordered by the Adige river. Then there are the many small towns in the area, such as Adria, Arquà Polesine (not to be confused with Arquà Petrarca, in Padua) and Badia Polesine. Some of these are home to treasures not to be missed – Palladian villas, stately palaces and museums of history and art. The Po Delta, a Unesco-protected natural oasis, is the perfect destination for anyone who loves outdoor excursions to explore nature. And then, it would be impossible not to mention the cuisine of these beautiful places, rich in fresh fish and produce straight from the farm. Polesine and the Po Delta offer everything you’re looking for in an unforgettable holiday.
