Amazing scenery, amongst gullies, forests and abandoned hamlets in the aptly named Piccole Dolomiti Lucane. There is an almost religious respect for the landscape and nature, protagonists of the tourist renaissance of the most authentic Basilicata.
Descending to the sea we find fortified farmhouses, twinned with those of the Matera area, and we pass through the places of origin of the Amaro Lucano(Pisticci) and of Francis Ford Coppola (Bernalda). You will discover beautiful villages like Castelmezzano, Pietrapertosa, Guardia Perticara and Tursi, whose oldest neighbourhood, the Rabatana, is of clear Saracen origin.
Finally, we reach the Ionian Sea, silent witness of the impetuous history of the Magna Graecia, which caresses the vast stretches of fine sand that follow one another along the strip of coast between Nova Siri, Policoro, Scanzano and Metaponto, stretching between Calabria to the west and Apulia to the east, with wild beaches, beachfront resorts and archaeological sites.
