Though many of us may subscribe to the philosophy that most any pasta dish can be improved by a healthy helping of parmesan cheese, anyone who has ever visited Italia knows most Italians do not mutually share this philosophy. In fact, Italian waiters will often refuse to bring parmesan to patrons wishing to add it to dishes deemed non-parmesan compatible by Italian standards (such as spaghetti alle vongole). You can forget the garlic bread too. For the vast majority of Italia, visitors will note that it does not exist!
